Age of War

In 2508 the only son and heir of First Prince William Davion of the Federated Sons, Edward Davion, was killed in a Capellan Confederation raid on Royalston. A regiment commanded by David Varnay should have been able to support Edward's unit, but failed to reach the proper coordinates in time, and as a result Edward and his comrades were killed; while the commander of the Varnay unit was exonerated from blame by subsequent investigations, accusations of treachery on the part of the Varnays was rife at the time.[4]

The Jihad

The Word of Blake launched a number of attacks during the first week of April 3069, some of which resulted in worlds being incorporated into the Word of Blake Protectorate; Royalston was one of the worlds the Blakists targeted, raiding with a mixture of Blakist forces and mercenaries.[44]
