Colonel Russel Bronson was the commanding officer of Bronson's Horde.

History[edit]

Russell Bronson succeeded his father as commanding officer of Bronson's Horde after his death at an unknown date. In 2946, he learned that the Eridani Light Horse, the unit his father once commanded, had a base of operations on New Karlsruh and were rebuilding after taken losses from an extended campaign. Thinking to teach what he considered "deserters" a lesson, Bronson canceled his Horde's contract with the Federated Suns and traveled to the Light Horse homeworld to launch an immediate assault. While the surprise attack initially caught the Light Horse off guard, they were quickly able to respond to and contain the situation. As Bronson pressed towards the Light Horse command center, he neglected his flanks and was quickly cut off and outmaneuvered by the better trained Light Horse troops. Bronson's personal Cyclops fell under the barrage of missiles from several Chippewa Aerospace fighters. The fight was brutal and cost the Horde over a regiment's worth of equipment, including Bronson's ride, and all of their space assets. Miraculously unscathed, Russel led his remaining forces offplanet, vowing revenge. However, their abandonment of contract and subsequent defeat greatly diminished their reputation as a mercenary force, and around another regiment's worth of MechWarriors left the unit for greener pastures.[2][3]

BattleMech[edit]

Russell Bronson piloted a Cyclops, at least until the New Karlsruh's debacle.[3]
