Samantha Cole was a Federated Suns noble.[1]
History[edit]
In early 3023, Thaddeus Cole received a briefing from the Ministry of Information, Intelligence, and Operations warning about a potential plot against his life on Raman. Before he could reinforce his security detail, an unknown battalion led by a strange Victor attacked the House Cole estate, kidnapping Samantha Cole along with a number of other staff.[1]
Though claiming she didn't need any assistance, the Draconis March Militia and Nik's Cavaliers mercenary unit descended on the holding facility and freed Samantha and the hostages, and the attackers subsequently withdrew from the system. Wanting to know who her captors were and why they were after her family, she planted a tracking device in one of their vehicles and learned they had fled to the Draconis Combine. Because House Cole couldn't directly respond without risking all-out war, Samantha requested the Cavaliers help her investigate.[1]
The Cavaliers raided a communications outpost the attackers recently set up on Matar, providing a diversion while Samantha infiltrated the logistic center and extracted exabytes worth of encrypted data from their servers. She was able to pinpoint their base of operations in a remote polar region of Reisling's Planet which was far from any civilian population and plagued by extreme weather. The conditions made the base invisible to unsuspecting outsiders but also vulnerable to attack, as enemies could approach undetected. Samantha discovered that it was her estranged cousin Henrik who was attempting to usurp rule over House Cole with the backing of the Draconis Combine. Aware this would destabilize the entire region should they succeed, the Cavaliers killed Henrik and leveled his base, putting an end to their operation.[1]
All the data she collected, including a copy of Henrik's 'Mech's data core, was handed over to the MIIO in the hopes it might help prevent a future attack. The custom Victor itself, however, was given to the Cavaliers as a contract bonus since the unique 'Mech would be impossible for House Cole to hide and serve as evidence of their raid into Combine space.[1]
