Samson Izumi was the commanding officer of Clan Cloud Cobra's 214th Cobra Fangs during the Golden Century[1]

Star Colonel Samson Izumi was the commanding officer in charge of the Homer-based exhibition for Clan Cloud Cobra's new Pella aerospace fighter on 10 September 2954. While the exhibition started off well enough, things took a turn when one of the prototypes malfunctioned and had to be shot down by Izumi and his other machines before it could crash into the stands and kill Khan Patrick McCloud. It soon became apparent that the errant Pella had been sabotaged by Clan Coyote, who arrived in the Cobra's airspace and began attacking immediately after the incident. Deciding to take the fight to the Coyotes rather than wait for the remainder of the 214th Cobra Fangs to take flight, Izumi and his two remaining wingmen managed to eliminate two Coyote fighters before being shot down or crash-landing.[1]
Following the cowardly attack and the near death of their Khan, Clan Cloud Cobra ceased producing the Pella due to the stigma surrounding it. However, the Coyotes managed to obtain the project data for the fighter and began producing it themselves, much to the rage of the Cloud Cobras. Ultimately, the Cloud Cobras declared a batchall for the Coyote's Pella production facility and Star Colonel Izumi lead a Trinary of the 214th Fangs to eliminate the Coyote defenders (which included, out of spite, numerous Pellas). After several downed fighters crashed into the civilian-caste areas of the Coyote's main Homer enclave, they conceded the battle to the Cobras, and the victorious Izumi claimed every Coyote Pella as isorla. Khan McCloud then ordered these machines dismantled, bringing an end to the service history of the benighted machine.[1]

Samson Izumi flew a Pella aerospace fighter during the premiere exhibition for the vehicle and during the ensuing battle against Clan Coyote.[1]
