Description
The Shadow Cat III was born from the Shadow Cat, after Clan Nova Cat's Touman and facilities were heavily damaged during the Second Combine-Dominion War. The Clan's scientists took a cue from Clan Jade Falcon's Thor II, and removed the Shadow Cat's fixed jump jets to free up mass that would be used mostly for pod space and an enhancement of the 'Mech's armor coverage.[1]
Weapons and Equipment
This expensive OmniMech makes use of weight-saving technologies in the form of an Endo Steel internal structure, an XL Engine, and eight tons of Ferro-Fibrous armor. The Shadow Cat III employs more pod space than the Shadow Cat at the expense of jump jets, but keeps the Myomer Accelerated Signal Circuitry that enables it to move up to 130 km/h in bursts.[3]
The primary configuration of the Shadow Cat III wields a Gauss Rifle allowing it to handily defeat smaller opponents, often before they can get within range. A pair of Medium Pulse Lasers back up the rifle.[3]
Alternate Configurations

- The first alternate configuration is also potent at long range, but it uses a pair of ER Large Lasers to gain that potency. It utilizes two extra double heat sinks to keep heat levels comfortable and has fitted eight Improved Jump Jets for maximum jump capabilities. BV (2.0) = 2,005[3]
- Alt. Config. B
- This variant is also a fusion of long-range weaponry with a scouting system. This configuration uses four ATM 3 launchers backed by two ER Medium Lasers. A Targeting Computer enhances the lasers' precision, while an Active Probe and an Angel ECM round out the variant's electronic warfare suite. Six jump jets allow it to navigate through difficult terrain. BV (2.0) = 2,183[3]
- Alt. Config. C
- This configuration departs from the rest. Carrying a LB 20-X AC supported by an Improved Heavy Large Laser, it has a Supercharger to give it the burst of speed needed to close distance with enemies. BV (2.0) = 2,153[3]
