Stephen Crown was a member of the Com Guards and played an important in the defense of Terra during Operation ODYSSEUS.

History

Crown enlisted in the Com Guards, reaching the rank of Demi-Precentor. By 3058, he served in the Terran Defense Force, under the orders of Precentor Lisa Koenigs-Cober.

On 28 February 3058, Lisa was invited by the mercenary Twenty-first Centauri Lancers to participate in a series of exercises. Despite a massive winter storm crossing North America, Lisa accepted, traveling to the Lancer base in Bowling Green in the True Word with her lance. Before arriving, a wing of Lancers' Transit aerospace fighters attacked and downed the DropShip. With no alternative, Lisa ordered her lance to make a hot-drop, for which they were luckily prepared.

Somehow, Crown survived the landing with a functional 'Mech. After reuniting with Lisa, the only other survivor of the lance, they began their return to Hilton Head. Lisa assumed that the Lancers were, in fact, Word of Blake moles and that they were attempting to take Terra. She was right.

Crown and Lisa reached Hilton Head in thirteen hours. Along the way, they systematically destroyed microwave dishes and communication lines, taking down sections of the power grid, all to blind the Blakists and hide their presence. Their precautions worked, and they reached Hilton Head undetected. The fake Lancers were attacking ComStar's command post with armor and artillery, but Lisa and Crown devastated their rear guard. Thanks to their attack, they delayed the Blakist's assault, which allowed Lisa to evacuate Primus Sharilar Mori and all surviving Hilton Head defenders from Terra. It is unknown whether Crown also survived.
