Needs picture & unable to add top speed in the design specification section. -- Wrangler 19:24, 12 March 2009 (PDT)

ForestryMech[edit]

Information released by Classic Battletech officals on their message board have indicated that ForestryMech & Crosscut are similar but not same exact mech. They are variants of the original design which includes difference weight, armor, and equipment. I believe that ForestryMech will need its own seperate entry for its stats since is uses older rules and has two canon record sheets where used the older Maximumtech Battletech rule. Thus I will create new entry for ForestryMech when I am able. -- Wrangler 06:01, 14 March 2009 (PDT)

Yes, these two are totally distinct designs. The ForestryMech is probably similar to the generic APC vehicles - one very typical example of a group of vaguely similar 'Mechs (vehicles). I have cut out the parts about the ForestryMech while cleaning up the article, and inserted them below for further reference, i.e. when you get around to making the ForestryMech article. :) Frabby 15:27, 15 April 2009 (PDT)

ForestryMech cut text[edit]

Two record sheets of mech were created for Record Sheets: Mechwarrior Dark Age I:

  • ForestryMech - Equipt with only a Chain Saw with standard battlemech armor.
  • ForestryMech MOD - this design is equiped with AC/2 with one ton of ammunnition, an chainsaw, and additional standard battlemech armor than unarm variant.

In original publication of the Ghost War novel by Michael Stackpole, a mini-Technical Readout was submitted named Techical Readout 3130. This included Forestry Mech with equipt with LB5-X autocannon which had 125 rating ICE engine that could move this mech top speed of 80 kph. Which accordance to the 'mech construction rules, is too heavy for the design to carry.
