Talk:Mercenary's Star (novel)

Portuguese translations

As noted in the notes, there were two Portuguese transations related to this, A Estrela do Mercenário I and A Estrela do Mercenário II. This would ordinarily indicate that these were two volumes/parts of a translation of Mercenary's Star, but it seems possible that these are translations of Mercenary's Star and The Price of Glory, respectively. However, I have not found anything that would conclusively establish this one way or the other. So I have left the statements here and on The Price of Glory in way to inform of both possibilities. I will store some partial research notes below.

Some info for any seeking to sleuth this out:

• A comparison of the German and Portuguese covers lends some support for this hypothesis, but that is of course not conclusive.
• Page Counts do not rule out the possibility of a two part translation. The page counts are 180 and 200, respectively, while page count for Decisão em Thunder Rift is 276. But again nothing conclusive.
• Finding a synopsis of each of the Portuguese works would be one way to resolve this, but my Web searches have come up dry thus far. The publisher declared insolvency in 2019. Searches through webarchive yielded a listing but the store entries themselves were not archived.
