First appears in the original Battledroids rulebook as the 'Droid example being constructed.

- Since you requested it I have added a note to this article. The Merlin from Battledroids is slightly different from the BattleTech 2nd Ed. Merlin (see Battledroids article). It has more jump jets and a different armor configuration. Frabby (talk) 11:22, 14 June 2015 (PDT)
- In Battledroids it didn't have more jump jets, it's just the jump jets at that time all weighed 0.5 tons no matter what weight mech they were put on. The 2nd edition update removed two tons of armor to account for the rule change that made the jump jets heavier. Ssyrie (talk) 19:53, 1 February 2023 (EST)
