Talk:Rules Level

House Rules

the Core rules make no reference to house rules, the sole exception is a possiblility that a rule that had its origin in fandom was noticed by the powers that be and promoted to an official status by the powers that be.--Cameron 20:24, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

The Best example of this is the Movement Dice rule where a player moves the mech and places a die with the facing showing being the movement modifier... I had encountered this in games long before it was published in a rules level 3 book and i believe that the Movement Dice paragraph or article mentioned its origin as a house rule. --Cameron 14:41, 4 December 2009 (UTC)

Listing of Technology and rules that fall under each rules category

Thinking of doing a listing of technology and rules that fall under of each category... it appears to be a massive undertaking, perhapse in a sub page?--Cameron 14:41, 4 December 2009 (UTC)

That sounds reasonable. Perhaps "List of tournament legal equipment"? --Scaletail 23:57, 4 December 2009 (UTC)

No longer a relevant concept (?)

The latest versions of Total Warfare (p. 10) include: "Previously, BattleTech split its rules into levels. However, with the introduction of several new units and their construction systems (notably IndustrialMechs and Support Vehicles), the lines between the levels became blurred. The current rules are simply classified as standard or tournament and advanced or non-tournament, as appropriate." (which IMHO makes _much_ more sense the the mess we had before)
