Kommandant Tamara Duke was a MechWarrior, who served with the Stormhammers' Lyran Rangers, during the Dark Age Era.[1]

Rangers Command Lance[edit]
Duke was fanatically loyal to, and indeed in love with, Jasek Kelswa-Steiner. This separated her from her comrades in the Lyran Rangers, who were both less enthusiastic about Kelswa-Steiner preference for Lyran Commonwealth rule as compared to Free Skye, and who did not appreciate Duke complaining to Kelswa-Steiner about any who spoke ill of him. Despite this leaving Duke almost without support during battle, she didn't mind, finding it another opportunity to showboat and seek Kelswa-Steiner's attention.[1]
As of 3133, Duke served in a Rangers Command Lance within the Lyran Rangers, commanded by Odell Phillips.[3]
Battle of Towne[edit]
Duke participated in the August 3133 Battle of Towne, when the Lyran Rangers attempted to seize Towne's working HPG in the city of Port Howard. While engaging the Twenty-first Centauri Lancers during this battle, she fantasized about eliminating her XO Hauptmann Vic Parkins, who she found a constant source of irritation.[2]
While her forces under Leutnant Ken Roos initially managed to capture the HPG, they abandoned it shortly after the defenders rallied, partially because of their own animus against Duke. As she attempted to reach the HPG to relieve what she thought were cut-off Stormhammers, her 'Mech was deliberately shot in the back by missiles from one of her own JES II Missile Carrier, resulting in serious damage. Following the JES II's destruction by Twenty-first Centauri Lancers Lieutenant Colonel Thos Cardella, Duke was however allowed to retreat off-world by Cardella.[4][5]
BattleMech[edit]
Duke was known to have piloted a Wolfhound BattleMech, serial number KH115-344C, nicknamed "Eisenfaust" ("Iron Fist") after the Lyran Crest. This 'Mech served with the Kell Hounds during the Clan Invasion, through to the Word of Blake Jihad, resulting in it being rebuilt after battle damage many times. Taken to the Republic of the Sphere on its formation by a former Kell Hound, it became available to the Stormhammers after the Blackout.[1]
