Seeing Blink

  • Not so much with the blinking, eh? ;-) (At least, it was on 'the blink' with me.) --Revanche (admin) 06:46, 27 November 2006 (CST)
Not working? What browser are you using? Xoid 02:28, 28 November 2006 (CST)
Hmmm, never considered it might be me. IE 6.01 (don't be a hater). I'm assuming you guys use FF? --Revanche (admin) 23:39, 28 November 2006 (CST)
Yes, we do. A vast majority of the Urban Dead community does; it took so long for M$ to come out with a decent way to integrate things into their browser that even IE advocates grudgingly use it for the utilities that simply aren't available with IE. I would advise you change browsers if at all possible; don't just take my word for it; Paul Thurrott — who worships the very ground M$ walks on — says that he uses FF and it'll take a miracle to convince him to go back to IE. But seriously if you have to use IE, get IE7. I cannot stress it enough — IE7 is a huge step forward and the most secure version of IE yet. Keep in mind that it's still lightyears behind Firefox, Opera and Safari in both security and standards compliance. Check WebDevout out for more details. --Xoid 01:06, 29 November 2006 (CST)
I tried to use FF a few years ago, when I was still stationed overseas, but it didn't load properly. At that time, I was of the mind, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it," but that was more in line of having a functional (i.e., IE) browser. I use CrazyBrowser at work sometimes and like it (except when I accidentally loose all my pages by trying to close just one and habitually click on the x). I did d/l IE 7 on both comps, but for some reason, they didn't auto-install either, so...yeah, good enough reason to try FF again. Thanks for the interesting reads. --Revanche (admin) 08:58, 29 November 2006 (CST)
Hehe, *gets out knife*. Lol, is it against the rules to murder the admin?--The GeneralT 08:17, 2 December 2006 (CST)
Hey! Don't forget: the ignorant still outnumber the rest of ya'll! --Revanche (admin) 18:59, 2 December 2006 (CST)
That just means it's gonna take longer to shank y'all. :P --Xoid 19:14, 2 December 2006 (CST)

Reasoning

  • Is there any reason we would ever want to ever possibly ever use blink? Nicjansma 13:31, 29 November 2006 (CST)
Not sure. Perhaps instead of colours when trying to make something stand out? I'll admit that it'll be infrequently used. --Xoid 15:57, 29 November 2006 (CST)
It's to annoy the hell out of everyone! --The GeneralT 08:13, 2 December 2006 (CST)
Not the best of reasons to use while trying to talk the site owner into keeping it. Since this is unlikely to have any legitimate uses, certainly not enough of them to warrant a template, I'm putting it up for deletion. --Xoid 18:00, 2 December 2006 (CST)
God, can't you take a joke? It doesn't do any harm! And, if I wanted to, I could just do it with wiki code, this just saves page space.--The GeneralT 05:32, 3 December 2006 (CST)
