The Togura Dragon is an alien species, native to Togura, which was favored as a pet in the Draconis Combine.[1]

Resembling a smaller version of a Terran Komodo Dragon (Varanus komodoensis), Togura Dragons differed in having a more feline flattened face and short snout, with short, wiry hairs covering the nape of their necks. Mostly found in the coastal flats and shorelines along Togura's equatorial ocean, Toguran dragons spend the first year of their lives in the deeper alkaline sea, where the nimble creatures exhibit an excellent ability to swim.
Mating for life, Toguran dragons are extremely loyal, a characteristic they transfer to their owners when domesticated. Combined with an excellent tracking ability, they make for pets which are difficult to lose or abandon, as they have been known to travel thousands of kilometers to reunite with separated owners. These characteristics make Toguran dragons popular as pets on Togura, but due to their need for heavy alkaline water and a specific diet to survive, on other worlds they are extremely expensive to keep. However, perhaps because of this cost, they were popular pets in wealthy and noble households across the Draconis Combine.[1]
Despite this status as a pet in the Combine, Toguran dragon leather was known to be used on the hilt's of Combine samurai's katana swords, where its rough grippy texture was prized.[2]
