History
Roland participated in a raid on the Lyran Commonwealth world of Timbiqui. After being cut off from his units DropShips three days into the engagement, Roland used his 'Mechs flamers to start a forest fire which appeared to threaten the city of New Bombei. The tactic forced the Lyrans to recall their units to fight the fire, allowing Roland's company to retreat off-world without losses, and left the Lyrans to discover Roland had prepared fire breaks in order to protect civilians which contained the fire several kilometers outside the city.[1][2]

Roland was known to pilot a Firestarter BattleMech.[1][2]
