The UrbanMech IIC is a Clan IIC-style upgrade of the original UrbanMech, which Clan Coyote technicians reworked this venerable design at around the same time as the development of the OmniMech during the Golden Century. They studied battle data from as far back as the Amaris Civil War and used this research as the basis for their upgrades. They apparently decided that the UrbanMech, known as the Urbie to its fans and detractors alike, did not need much reworking, as simply upgrading much of the equipment and technology to Clan standards was sufficient. With these upgrades they were able to increase the 'Mech's ground speed by nearly 50%, and improve its jumping capacity to 90 meters, though they did not change the six tons of standard armor or the 10 single heat sinks. While the Coyotes field the most UrbanMech IICs, the 'Mechs are also fielded by the Goliath Scorpions, Snow Ravens, Ice Hellions, and Hell's Horses.[3]

Weapons and Equipment[edit]

Designed as a cheap, efficient urban combat vehicle, the UrbanMech IIC improves upon its predecessor by utilizing a Type 9 UAC/10 that allows the 'Mech's main gun to fire twice as fast as the old version, though the MechWarrior must still watch ammo consumption carefully. The Series 1 ER small laser is a backup weapon that allows the design to stay in the fight after its ammunition has run out.[3]

  • UM-IIC Hashké 
    Themed around its creator, Clan Coyote and based on the UrbanMech IIC standard variant, the Hashké mounts two Machine Guns in its right arm with a ton of ammo in the head. To deliver a punch, it utilizes a Clan Ultra Autocannon/20 in its right arm with three tons of ammunition. For backup, it mounts three ER Micro Lasers in the left arm. It mounts one Jump Jet for maneuverability along with ten double heat sinks.[6]
  • UM-IIC-2 Abbadon 
    Based on the UrbanMech IIC-2 variant, the Abbadon carries four ER Small Lasers: two in the left arm, one in the left torso and one in the center torso. It carries a HAG/30 for brawling in the right arm with two and a half tons of ammunition. It has one jump jet and ten double heat sinks.[6]
