Hi, I'm Beemer! It's short for BATTLEMASTER, which is my CGL BattleTech forum user name, but it was already taken here.

I got into BattleTech years ago playing MechWarrior 2: 31st Century Combat as a little kid. I also watched the BattleTech cartoon, though it was a few years before I learned that the cartoon and computer games were related! I was introduced to tabletop one Christmas morning when my parents got me the BattleTech 4th Edition box set and the BattleTech Compendium. I was totally hooked then!

Although I had no one to play the tabletop game with, I enjoyed designing all kinds of units like LAMs, tanks, and submarines. This got only more fun once MegaMek came to existence and I was a contributing coder for awhile. Nowadays I surf Sarna, the CGL BattleTech forum, and play my own MekHQ Against-the-Bot campaigns.

In real life, I am educated as a civil engineer specializing in facility energy efficiency. My other hobby besides BattleTech is military vehicle restoration, with my current project being a M35A3 2-1/2-ton 6x6 cargo truck. My dream project is a Leopard 1A5 main battle tank. Perhaps someday!

I am from the United States and a native English speaker, so I will correct spelling and grammar in articles on Sarna.net as I read through them and find errors. That being said, I am very thankful for contributors worldwide helping this wiki :-)
