I did a playthrough of MechCommander 2 and thought you might be interested in taking a look, not sure why I didn't think to mention it earlier. Welcome

Welcome, DerangedShadow, to BattleTechWiki!

We look forward to your contributions and want to help you get off to a good strong start. Hopefully you will soon join the army of BattleTech Editors! If you need help formatting the pages, visit the manual of style. For general questions go to the Help section or the FAQ. If you can't find your answer there, please ask an Admin.

Additional tips
Here's some extra tips to help you get around in the wiki:

  • For policies and guidelines, see The Five Core Policies of BattleTechWiki and the BTW Policies. Another good place to check out is our market of Projects, to see how the smaller communities within BTW do things in their particular niche areas.
  • Each and every page (articles, policies, projects, images, etc.) has its very own discussion/talk page, found on the tab line at the top of the page. This is a great place to find out what the community is discussing along that subject and what previous issues have already been solved.
  • If you want to play around with your new wiki skills, the Sandbox is for you. Don't worry: you won't break anything. A great resource for printing out is the Wiki Cheat Sheet.
  • If you're not registered, then please consider doing so. At the very least, you'll have a UserPage that you own, rather than sharing one with the community.
  • Also consider writing something about yourself on your UserPage (marked as "DerangedShadow" at the top of the page, though only do this if you're registered). You'll go from being a 'redshirt' to a 'blueshirt,' with the respect of a more permanent member.
    • This is really helpful for the admins, as it gives your account that touch of "humanity" that assists us in our never-ending battle with spambots.
  • For your first few edits on the wiki, please do not add any URLs (which can be an indicator of SPAM).
  • Consider introducing yourself on our Discord server.
  • In your Preferences, under the edit tab, consider checking Add pages I create to my watchlist and Add pages I edit to my watchlist, so that you can see how your efforts have affected the community. Check back on following visits by clicking on watchlist.
  • If you're bored and want to find something to do, try the Random button in the sidebar, or check out the List of Wanted Pages. Or even go to Special Pages to see what weird stuff is actually tracked by this wiki.
  • Please sign your name on Talk pages using four tildes (~~~~) or by clicking on the circled button in this image; this will automatically produce your name (or IP address, if you are editing anonymously) and the date.

Again, welcome to Sarna's BattleTechWiki!

*******Be Bold*******

Hi, just an explanation why I rolled back your edit: The text in question was a direct quote, and as such needs to quote verbatim. I have created a redirect from the redlink to cover the problem once and for all for all links using downcase spelling. Another possible solution would have been a piped link.

Thanks for editing! Frabby 08:40, 14 June 2012 (PDT)

Sign talk posts

As a courtesy for other editors, it is a BattleTechWiki guideline to sign your talk page and user talk page posts. To do so simply add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your comments. Your user name (or IP address, if you are editing anonymously) and the date will be automatically added along with a timestamp. Signing your comments helps people to find out who said something and provides them with a link to your user/talk page (for further discussion). For further info see the talk page guidelines. Thank you.

Good Article Award

Saw the work you put into A Call to Arms. Like it. Actually, I'm very happy that another person besides me has begun to create articles on novels including the plot summary writeup, so that even people without access to that novel would know the canon-relevant content. Have a Good Article Award!

Thank you very much Frabby. It's the least I can do for this site that I use quite a bit. Since the only thing I truly own that I can add value to this site is all the Mechwarrior Dark Age books, I thought I would add what I can. DerangedShadow 18:15, 4 July 2012 (PDT)

Year Pages

Hy i read your talk on [Frabby's] page, i appriciate your entusiastic to update the year pages, i disagree in one point, keep in mind some pages are empty while some content was deleted, please take a look on the 3096 history, when the added content was not supported by an article then Revanche and by myself deleted the content of the page but not removed the year page template from sarna, i hope some contributors added content to the empty pages with on blue link and not with red links, i hope you fill in some empty pages, sorry for raw writing, but i think you know what i mean, please keep up your good writing and add more [Dark Age] articles, greetings.--Doneve 16:23, 12 July 2012 (PDT)

Alright, I was trying to be helpful about the wanted pages having years on it, thought it best to see about eliminating them so the wanted pages was free of them. That is why I asked Frabby before I started doing anything with it. I shall stop doing with what I was doing. DerangedShadow 16:31, 12 July 2012 (PDT)
I think you must not stop your work, i updated at this time the Manufacturing Timeline and switch then to the year pages to integrate some content, i don't want you stop what you do.--Doneve 16:35, 12 July 2012 (PDT)
So you would like me to continue with the mass year page creation? DerangedShadow 16:37, 12 July 2012 (PDT)
Yes continue.--Doneve 17:35, 12 July 2012 (PDT)

Vali

Hy great article but the Vali was not produced on Torrence its produced on Ozawa, i update the manufacturer page.--Doneve (talk) 20:00, 20 June 2013 (PDT)

I see what I skipped now. Thanks for fixing that ^_^ DerangedShadow (talk) 20:04, 20 June 2013 (PDT)

Character Naming

Hello Mbear, question for you about the naming standard on Sarna for pages of characters with the same name. Taking for example Thaddeus Marik which will bring you to the disambiguation for three different Thaddeus'. I than go to Christopher Marik which brings you to two different pages, either Christopher Marik (24th c.) or Christopher Marik (32nd c.). Question is, I need to create a page for Kenyon Marik of the Dark Age instead of Kenyon Marik the Captain-General. So which naming method should be used to differentiate these two characters? DerangedShadow (talk) 17:37, 13 January 2014 (PST)

I'm not as familiar with the naming conventions for characters as I should be. That said I think your question might be better posted on the Biography Project Talk page. If you can't get an answer there, we're all in trouble! ;) --Mbear(talk) 04:55, 14 January 2014 (PST)

Andrew Steiner

Hy, i found a another Andrew Steiner in the 1st Somerset Strikers (sourcebook) p. 58, this was a reminder for you about character naming, hope this help.--Doneve (talk) 20:05, 20 January 2014 (PST)

Thanks Doneve, though now that brings up another question about the naming structure. The older characters should be getting the normal name with the newer ones based on the century that they mainly lived, which means I must go modify the Archon Andrew of the early Dark Age. All Purpose Award

I'd like to award you with an all purpose award All Purpose Award, 1st ribbon for your disambiguation work. That sort of stuff is badly needed here and its great to see someone else working hard on it. Keep up the good work! -BobTheZombie (talk) 14:37, 22 May 2014 (PDT)

Why thank you Bob, I can agree at how needed it is and have added it to the list of things I shall push forward in accomplishing. DerangedShadow (talk) 15:16, 22 May 2014 (PDT)
