Valentina Tazegül was a member of Clan Goliath Scorpion's touman and SaKhan.[1]

History[edit]

Valentina Tazegül was born to a Tazegül sibko, a rare bloodline that had not been widely used in over a century. The Clan’s scientists began utilizing such archived samples early in the century to increase the Clan's genetic diversity. A young ristar, she won a Tazegül Bloodname, becoming one of only a handful to bear it, given this rarity. As a teenage warrior, Valentina claimed four kills from RDF4 in the Battle of Bremen, during the Hanseatic Crusade, as part of Tau Galaxy, and she was among the few of her Galaxy to survive the city’s destruction. She was elected saKhan in December 3150, after Homer Baba retired to the Merchant caste. Her election to saKhan followed tradition in regards to her age and accomplishments. Her particular combination of fighting skill, political acumen, and administrative ability was recognized early and rewarded.[2]

On March 3151, Delta Aimag of Clan Sea Fox Tiburon Khanate forces arrived to the Hamburg system, issuing a batchall for the technical specifications of new Imperial 'Mechs. Valentina, which was training with her bodyguard unit, the Hellion Keshik's new 'Mechs, answered the OvKhan Lester Kalasa, accepting the Trial, while her lightweight Trinary was allowed to use their version of zellbrigen. Kalasa accepted.

The two forces met on the glacial Horvath Flatlands. The Sea Foxes landed first, to find no defenders awaiting them. Then Hellion Keshik dropped into their landing zone. Tazegül challenged ovKhan Kalasa to a duel, which he accepted. Her Hellion appeared puny compared to Kalasa’s Cauldron-Born. She charged, weapons blazing, while the rest of her Star turned from their opponents and joined their fire to hers. The barrage rocked Kalasa, and Tazegül never let him recover. She carved the heavy OmniMech to pieces while the rest of the combatants fought their own duels. Kalasa was defeated and the trial lost.[3]

The defeated Foxes retreated to the Chaine Cluster, but before landing, they found the Hellion Keshik there. Valentina issued a batchall, seeking a Trial of Possession for the contents of the ovKhan’s JumpShip and DropShips, both physical and electronic. Communications intercepts had revealed the Aimag's destination. Their routes differed, but the Hellion Keshik had arrived soon after the Sea Foxes. Kalasa was reluctant to accept, but refusing the honorable challenge might have ended his time commanding the Aimag. He accepted on the condition that only pure zellbrigen be allowed and not the Keshik’s personal interpretation. Tazegül accepted so quickly that Kalasa feared the worst. His fears proved accurate.

Instead of the light and medium ’Mechs he had faced on Hamburg, now, some of the Keshik's warriors piloted heavy and assault OmniMechs. The Scorpions overwhelmed the Foxes' warriors in honorable combat. The orderly trial was completed quickly, again in favor of Hellion Keshik. SaKhan Tazegül collected her due, the entire contents of the ovKhan's ships, including all personnel who had not fought in the trial. The ships’ databanks were a treasure trove of trade routes and technical specifications. However, she was badly wounded in the trial and has yet to wake from her coma. Rumors persist that her position might go to her deputy, Rudolf Schmidt, partly to pacify the restive elements in the former Hanseatic League.[4]

BattleMech[edit]

Valentina Tazegül's 'Mech on Hamburg was a Hellion, but she was said to be allotted two 'Mechs of different weight classes: a Kingfisher C and a Nova H.[5]
