Unit Description

The Zeta Prime Galaxy is a Clan Ice Hellion Second-Line formation composed almost entirely of fanatical Freeborns.[1]

History

Prior to 3059 Zeta Prime had recently launched an unsanctioned raid on New Kent, a Clan Steel Viper world. The raid ended in disaster with the destruction of several Trinaries.[1]

Mid-3071 saw Zeta Prime move to the Inner Sphere and together with Alpha and Delta Galaxies formed the primary attack force under Khan Montrose. This force moved against Clan Jade Falcon industrial worlds, while the Hellion secondary force secured the Periphery. Zeta Prime assaulted Wotan, which it took although at high cost to the infrastructure and HPG of the planet.[2]

Alpha and Zeta Prime Galaxies launched a second wave of attacks in July 3071 capturing Derf, Trell I, Romulus, Maxie's Planet and Golandrinas that the Falcon's had recently recaptured from Delta Galaxy. In August Alpha and Zeta Prime assaulted Evciler, during which zellbrigen was breached numerous time and Khan Montrose seriously injured. In December Zeta Prime successfully captures Seiduts forcing The Falcon's Delta Galaxy off planet,[3] but is itself forced to retreat in February 3072 when attacked by Hell's Horses' Theta Galaxy. The Galaxy pulled back to Vantaa and joined with Alpha Galaxy. In March the system is attacked by the Falcon's Alpha and Delta Galaxies as well as Clan Hell's Horses's Iota Galaxy. Zeta Prime was destroyed in this conflict and Khan Montrose perished on the battlefield.[4]

Tactics

Units of Zeta Prime Galaxy regularly violate standard Clan battle tactics. Their overzealous nature leads to frequent unsanctioned attacks, whereby battle quickly descends into a general melee with each warrior freely choosing their own targets. This naturally leads to disastrous losses and frequent reprimands from superior officers.[1]
