The Dry River Devils were a mercenary unit working for House Davion. In 3003 they were sent to raid the "Capellan Confederation" world of Tsamma[1] (explained as an illegal revolutionary government[2] on what historically always was a Davion world). However, their reinforcements were delayed; the mercenaries were pounced upon by Warrior House Ijori. Forced to surrender, they had to turn over their 'Mechs to the victorious Warrior House.[1] The whole episode was said to be exemplary for a decline of Davion military prowess at the time, owing to Michael Hasek-Davion's machinations that encouraged corruption in the Davion administrative ranks. Hasek-Davion diverted funds to Capellan March nobles from whom he was seeking favors.
Now let us examine all the 'possible' errors in this statement in detail!

The closest timeline we have is 3025 where they were stationed on Aldebaran – top of the CC between Liao and Nanking …. To get to Tsamma … this warrior house will need to travel through Valexa PDZ, Achemar Combat Region, Kestrel Combat Region and into Tsamma Combat Region – then we need to go to the capitol world of this combat region – which will take a good couple of months each way …. Putting the warrior house out of commission for say a year …
Also Tsamma - https://www.sarna.net/wiki/Tsamma is a FS world from 2571 to 3003
Thus the mercenary unit would be on world and the warrior House would have to travel to this world ….
As we are now in the Crucis March and not the Capellan March can anyone explain how Duke Hasek-Davion gets involved here?
Also if they did pull this off then why isn’t it lauded as one of the greatest deep raids ever? Or inept?
one other point - House Liao Book Pg 53 - the relationship between CC and Michael didn't start until about 3020.
