==Overview:==
Wanting to build an exceptionally versatile light mech, the Golan Arms
company began to study all the gun camera footage of mech combat the featured
light mechs engaging both light and medium mechs. The end results of the 4
year study was a set of guidlines that became the new mech Golan Arms soon
offered to the Co-Alliance as a replacement for the aging mechs currently in
use. The Arion carries a mix of weapons that gives it striking power at all
ranges while avoiding the problems associated with reliance on a single
weapons system. Reasonably fast and well armored for its class, this design
can hold its own against most Karagin light and medium mechs and does very
well against anything currently in the armies of the Zokar and Vondor
militaries.

==Capabilities:==
The primary loadout of the Arion combines three of the most advanced weapons
currently in use by the Co-Alliance. Its main firepower comes from the
extended range PPC in its right arm and the extended-range large laser in its
left. A small pulse laser and SRM 2 are there to add to the mech's punch at
close range. While the Arion can run very hot if the pilot foolishly choses
to open up with all of his weapons at the close range, the mech is made for
the pilot to be aggressive but thought full in his weapon choices.

A two to one punch is the key to using this mech to it's utmost.

==Variants:==
The Mark 2 variant of the Arion, seems to go for more of the long range punch
by using an Extended range PPC. This weapon does however build a lot heat, but
Golan Arms felt it was worth it.

Similar secondary weapons as the Arion primary support the ER PPC on this
variant.

==Deployment==
One of the many new light 'Mech being fielded by the Co-Alliance along the
Karagin boarder the Arion has become a familiar site on the eveing news vids
across all member states of the Co-Alliance.

I like this one. The extra speed and armor realy help the survivability of this variant. Droping the SRMs for a couple of Medium lasers would give it a little more close in punch, but would propagate heat issues. A very solid light 'mech.
