when i click on sarna to go to the home page all the borders are gone.

Sarna seems to function properly for me, nothing unusual to be seen.
Can you narrow down the problem? What device and what OS are you using?

All I see is the yellow border at the top and the gray background and the logo of Sarna to the left.

You running an adblocker ? I got 3 going that nails a lot of annoying spam or sidebar ad and Sarna would not load at all unless given permission by any of the three; some sites total are blocked, others are part of sites, or just minor ad. Even MSN had them, I watched upwards of 2-3 THOUSAND being spammed after I installed one when otherwise Chrome was getting bogged down.
Otherwise, you might have high security settings in your browser. If say at a public place like a library or school/college they might block some sites by default.

He may need to update his browsers, FireFox has been making major changes and so has Chrome....

I haven't found any issues with any current browsers.
If anyone is encountering issues, I'd love for you to do two things:
1) Take a screenshot, and upload to something like https://imgur.com/
2) Let me know what browser and OS you're using
