Overview: This light design, based around a Cougar frame, is purpose built for a steath combat role, relying on its ATM racks and powerful plasma rifle to engage the target from long range. High speed and exellent jumping ability allows this mech to leap over larger, heavier foes with ease. Utalizing a compact but powerful TAG, this medium mech performs well in both sniper and long range bombardment roles. Up close its no slouch either, carring a array of four light machine guns for armor chewing and enough ammuntion to make the rather light guns count. The High Explosive missles also give this fast design a nasty close range barrage ability. Best used in groups or in close range urban combat, its primary long range weapon, the plasma cannon; while normally hampered by high heat cost, is deadly in this lighter, 'sink heavy design; the pilot easily able to get off three or more shots before the weapon needs a cool down, typically allowing the missle racks time to cycle to active mode.
Capabilities: While not as large as most battlemechs of its class and due to the Cougar like design many mis name it, this agile combat mecha quickly becomes a distinct target, due to the heatsinks this machine has been described as a 'Flaming death' mech seeming to be able to unleash the heavy plasma rifle almost non stop and the addtion of the powerfully long ranged missle racks means this rather small mech can pound targets significantly heavier then it at ranges outside of most weapons capacity; and flee before said targets can retaliate. While the choice of light caliber machine guns is seen as some as dubious, thier secondary role as point armor destruction and/or anti infantry use cannot be denied when used in conjunction with the AP pods mounted in the legs. Due to the size restrictions of the mecha the ATM racks were fitted in a late addition with HE (High explosive) warheads as a way to offset the rather low ammunition count, each system carrying only a single reload of ammuntion for each rack, caution is best used when deploying them at long range. While this design, can almost literally out run or jump over targets its rather thin Ferro fib. armor configuration means many pilots must step carefully when at close quarters, speed factor over armor factor often the keypoint to winning a battle with this machine. Carrying a full array of anti sensor gear in the form of a Angel ECM pod, the mech is also well suited for emplacement roles providing the region is decently armored; several mercinary groups have already began purchasing these rather low cost, well armed mechs for that exact reason when base defense is a high factor among them.
Deployment: As of this date four hundred of the battlemechs have been produced by JMY via assistance from LAW and have been purchased by either the DCMS itself or several merc groups such as the Northwind Highanders as supplmental units, even Clan wolf in exile has bought several lances of thes hybrid battlemechs for testing and use in second line units.
Battle History: The unit has seen battle against the Federated Commonwealth on several boarder worlds; most notably a extended lance of 5 of the WS-001aO units held off a assault lance of FC battlemechs for over five hours, suffering only the loss of a single unit until reinforcments could arrive.
Known Variants: The WS-001a0 is the only currenly produced model of this battlemech.

Pic is cool, but definitely not from Solaris 7. At least not from the fasa boxed set Solaris 7, Solaris: The Reaches, or Unbound.

no, the site, im not sure I found the pic in a google images search as referance for the configuration. and now Deviantart, or someone on there has mentioned that there might be a problem with me using the pic as referance, even though.. a LOT of people who design mechs use premade drawings, since a lot of the changes are internal after all but who knows.

thanks its how i spec a lot of my designs. sure singley the weapons prolly will suck, but LMGs for anti PA and infantery work pretty good, and they still frag armor up close. plasma rifle isnt quite as hot as a PPC can get but its basically the same thing, and a ATM as superior range to LRMS, sure less load count, but its a good bit more accurate when it hits.
