The canon almost has this with the rules for Heavy Rifled Cannon doing 9 Damage vs BAR 7 Armour and 6 Damage vs BAR 10...

the First part of it is Math (learned that peope do not understand my tables)

BattleTech Damage * (Weapon Baseline BAR/10) / (Targets BAR/10)

for most Weapons the Baseline BAR is going to be 10 (since the game centers around BattleMechs) this includes Infantry Platoon Creation Rules values for Infantry Platoons as well as Individual Shots and/or Bursts from MW/RPG/AToW weapons.

for Weapons that are speced agaist Bar 10 Armour (all but three weapons in the BattleTech portion of the canon), this formula Works

BattleTech Damage / (Targets BAR/10)

Calculating for 6 BT Damage, Source BAR is defaulted to 10 and only target BAR Varies in Table Below
Code:
Barrier
Rating
of
Target Points
2 6 / ( 2/10) 30.00
3 6 / ( 3/10) 20.00
4 6 / ( 4/10) 15.00
5 6 / ( 5/10) 12.00
6 6 / ( 6/10) 10.00
7 6 / ( 7/10) 8.57
8 6 / ( 8/10) 7.50
9 6 / ( 9/10) 6.67
10 6 / (10/10) 6.00

So far, the Sole Exception is the Heavy Rifled Cannon, which appears to be geared to BAR 7...

so, here is the Heavy Rifled Cannon

Calculating for 9 BT Damage at Source BAR of 7, Target BAR Varies in table Below

Code:
Barrier
Rating
of
Target Points
2 9 * (7/10) / ( 2/10) 31.50
3 9 * (7/10) / ( 3/10) 21.00
4 9 * (7/10) / ( 4/10) 15.75
5 9 * (7/10) / ( 5/10) 12.60
6 9 * (7/10) / ( 6/10) 10.50
7 9 * (7/10) / ( 7/10) 9.00
8 9 * (7/10) / ( 8/10) 7.88
9 9 * (7/10) / ( 9/10) 7.00
10 9 * (7/10) / (10/10) 6.30

granted, its a little more complex, and gets rid of the MAGIC Heavy Rifled Cannon being the only one that Does increased damage to SubPar armour as it Blasts through it (the light and Medium used the 3 point difference for the Heavy without actually running it for each weapon...)

the -3 Accross the board for the Light Medium & Heavy Recoilless Rifles going up against Bar 10 Armour is sheer Balderdash...

It is my opinion that all statements should be questioned, digested, disected, tasted, and then either spit out or adopted... RHIP is not a god given shield
