I was going through my TRO's when I noticed the Mackie and it's fluffy lostechyness and wondered about how some of our favorite 3025 mechies would look, only with crappier tech.
So, the project I pose, is to create design concepts of what your favorite 3025 mech's might have looked like (or it's predecessor) in the pre StarLeague days of the Terran Hegemony.
Design Rules Mech Cockpits's, Armor, and Engines are recent innovations and are much heavier and have following penalties: Cockpit = 5 tons Armor = 10.6/ton Engine Rating = 1.2x normal (rounded up) I.E. a 3/5 40t mech would use a fusion145 instead of a 120. ((40*3)*1.2=144 rounded to 145) Try not to put jump jets on it, mechs are new at this point;however if you MUST, double the weight of the jets to account for the jury rigging. (Seriously, that would be like trying to put jump jets on Honda's Asimo!)
My demonstreation model is the Urbie, and you thought it was bad before. 40t UrbanMech
4.0 Internal Structure 5.0 Cockpit 5.0 Fusion 145 (3/5/0) 2.0 Gyro 0.5 Machine Gun (LA) 0.5 @MG (LT) 12.0 AC-10 (RA) 1.0 @AC (RT) 9.0 Armor (95) 1.0 Heat Sink (CT)

Well we now have rules for "primitive" mechs...
