Assinine Industries wanted to create a fast submersible that was meant for attacking naval commercial transports with out doing over extensive damage so there would not be a great chance of lost of life. To this end the only weapon the Diamond Point is armed with Assinine Industries' Long Range Torpeto-1. The Diamond Point is for disrupting naval shipping by creating panic not out right destroying it as to make ones enemy to divert military assets to protect naval shipping so other places are not as well defended.
To make things very easy to keep the sub operational the sub was fitted with a hydrogen power cell to power the craft since the sub has to be in water to be used its just common seance for the craft to be powered by water or more specific waters component atoms.
The subs armor has nothing to do with protection from weapon fire but is there to protect the sub from crushing pressure when diving.
The ship was designed to carry an extra 250 kilos of cargo to help the ship in adverse conditions. Standard cargo is, extra oxygen tanks for the pilot, a device to split water into hydrogen and oxygen to either refill the ships hydrogen power cells or to supply the pilot with oxygen for breathing. The last standard device is a portable fusion reactor to power the sub in an emergency or to split water atoms for use by the sub or the pilot.
Why argue if the glass is half full or half empty, when you know someone is going to knock it over and spill it anyways.

The LRT-1 is a non cannon weapon system.

Yep, it's a torpedo, not a cannon. Har! (sorry)
The LRT-1 and LRM-1 are items Donkey has posted elsewhere on Sarna.
