Why aren't there more units using portable ecm units? They are the perfect device for laying ambushes without worrying about losing expensive units that carry them. Even if they are only good for a range of 1, it would help alot. Being portable would mean they should be cheaper then most. It could always be picked back up once the battle is done.
And have a code that you could turn it off incase the enemy steps near it.
