So if someone in the developement team built a 60 ton urbanmech, it would fee like one?
I could say the annihilator mech is the top end result of the urbanmech.
It is the same speed, but has 4 cannons instead of 1. It has jets as well.

They'd probably call it something like an Urbanmech II, which wouldn't feel like an Urbanmech, but it would feel like an Urbanmech II, being an Urbanmech II.

That makes no sense Retry

So it may not feel like a Marauder, but a Marauder II would feel like a Marauder II.

So its okay if the PTB do it but not okay if we the fans do...again Retry that makes no sense.

The fan-made ones can't claim it is a variant when it's made as differently as you made yours.

The canon ones in-universe are, well, made in-universe. So by default they possess the traits to make them "feel" like themselves, even if that means what they "feel" like changes as a consequence of the new model. Though, the Marauder II doesn't use the exact same chassis of the Marauder, it's just based upon the Marauder.

I can claim anything I want Retry. You are making no sense with your non-logical line of argument here.

Oh for god's sakes
Mech A feels like Mech A
Mech A Mk.II variant is made canon
Mech A Mk.II variant feels like Mech A because of the first assumption, Mech A feels like Mech A, and Mech A Mk.II is just a variant of said Mech A.

Sorry not following your logic on this. This mech the Urbanmech 2 UM-R100 is no different then existing mechs like the Marauder II. If you don't like that take on things then don't use the mech.

Yes, it is different.
The Marauder II shows it's not a Marauder but based off the Marauder.

Your Urbanmech...

Why no roman numerals?

Guess he is saying that for some, a unit that is modified from the original just doesn't feel right, since you got use to playing it a certain way.

I am guessing that you have not used the varients of the archer. The original has the dual 20 packs. Try the kurita one with the dual large lasers. They dropped the 20s to 15s and removed the 4 medium lasers. That is a whole knew mech to play with.

I have seen a few designs here that would make great units to use in the game. The fact that the owners did not publics it, isn't a big deal. It kinda shows their developers don't have as much imagination to come up with some of the more logical designs.

I am getting the impression he is upset because of the less then nice feed back he has gotten to a few of his units posted.
This conversation is kinda reverse of the one being done in the crossroads unit conversations.

Only here retry looks to be saying the mechs aren't canon so they should be left out.

To answer your #2, cause I didn't want to use Roman numerals. And to answer your first counter point, the 2 shows that it is take on the Urbanmech as does the UM-R100 which is different from the design code the Urbanmech has. Or did you miss that part as well?

With retrys logic, the Charger varients should have roman numerals behind them, since they are based on the original, but aren't even close in speed, weapons or armor.
