I know my rules for the AMS and LAMS are quite out of date. What are the current rules on how these systems work?
Why argue if the glass is half full or half empty, when you know someone is going to knock it over and spill it anyways.
I was a Major *pain* before

I believe AMS and LAMS provides a -4 malus on the cluster tables to one missile attack
LAMS can lower it below 2, which if happens destroys the entire barrage or at least the ones that'd hit your mech. AMS do not have same ability normally though.
AMS consumes 1 ammo and can only intercept 1 barrage. Unfortunately another reason just to SRM2 or LRM5 spam.

AMS was originally quite crappy, but the current rules are much better.
1) Enemy missile weapon scored a hit.
2) One AMS covering appropriate firing arc fires automatically. (Target's choice if more than one system)
3) One round of AMS ammo expended.
4) Attacker applies -4 modifier to Cluster Hit Roll (minimum 2)
5) Each AMS can defend against a single Missile weapon each turn. I'm not certain, butt I believe if there are more successful Missile Weapon attacks than AMS, the target can choose which missiles are defended; however you cannot choose NOT to use the system.
No idea on LAMS.

How much does a LAMS weigh and what is the new heat rules?
Does the IS AMS still have 12 shots per ton of ammo?
