the elrm has its own launcher, or can you use a normal one?
You might be able to fit this on a smaller unit. Looks like firesupport to the max. Would need a bodyguard unit when things get close range.
The c3 is a sneaky thing to have. Would ask if you have a master carrier version. I could very well see a company of these with a single spotter wiping out another one quickly.

What do you mean by "it's own launcher"?
You probably could fit this on a smaller unit, but that smaller unit would be sacrificing something without taking an XLE. The King Catapult is made to take advantage of the jump jet rules where mechs from 60 to 85 tons could have 1 ton JJs(iJJs are 2 tons).

Or do you just add the ammo to a normal lrm unit?

Ah, yeah, it's a separate launcher. In this case, for two extra tons you take the LRM launcher's min range by half.

I liked this mech enough that I made another alt. history mech out of it. While it's raw firepower had hardly been modified, this new mech has a good electronics suite which lets it use it's C3 and Artemis systems well, even against opponents with their own ECM capabilities. It's battlefield endurance is excellent, and this might be one of the fastest practical jumping Assault mech that can be made.

can artemis systems be used with a c3?
it had better not be seperated from its support, as a lack of secondary weapons will show dearly went engaged at shorter ranges.
The jets do offset this some. And the price. ouch.

Yep. They aren't mutually exclusive, like stealth armor and C3.
You'll be hard-pressed to get into shorter ranges, especially in rough terrain. Without the raw firepower, stand-and-blasting just doesn't work. So you'll have to do more with maneuver warfare against the enemy.
I find the price acceptable for a mostly special ops type of mech. It shouldn't be easy to kill, if only because it can run away unlike almost every assault mech in existance, while having the armor of one. I could probably put this and the salticidae and microsalticidae into a JJ-Mobile Lance or something.
A 85 tonner moving at 7 jumping for a +4 to-hit mod (+3 moved 7 hexes +1 jumping) tends to not be commonly encountered on the battlefield, and it would be difficult to adapt to the unique tactics needed to field both of these two King Catapults(For both the user and the one who encounters them.)
