Type/Model: Sprinter SPRNT-3R Tech: Inner Sphere / 3050 Config: Biped BattleMech Rules: Level 2, Standard design
Mass: 20 tons Chassis: Bergan VII Endo Steel Power Plant: 180 LTV XL Fusion Walking Speed: 97.2 km/h Maximum Speed: 151.2 [194.4] km/h Jump Jets: None Jump Capacity: 0 meters Armor Type: 1/Star Slab Ferro-Fibrous Armament: 3 Medium Pulse Lasers Manufacturer: Bergan Industries Location: (Unknown) Communications System: Garret T-10B Targeting & Tracking System: O/P 911
------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ==Overview:== With the appearance of the Clans and its more advanced battlemechs, the Sprinter is the Inner Sphere's attempt to mimic the abilities of the Dasher, or Fire Moth as it is called by the Clans.
==Capabilities:== The Sprinter looks much like the Locus and has similar capabilities as the Dasher, except not having omni capabilties and a slower top speed.
Using a 180 XL engine, the Sprinter is capable of top speeds of 151 km/h. With the activation of the MASC system, the mech is able to cruise at speeds in excess of 190 km/h for brief periods of time.
To make up for its slower speed, the Sprinter is armored a fair bit more then its Clan cousin with ferro-fiberous armor. Endo is used to lighten the internal structure and allow room for a decent weapons payload.
The weapon system consists of 3 Medium pulse lasers, 1 mounted in each arm and 1 in the center torso. With its amazing speed and accurate weapon system, it can get behind many a heavy mech and strike at its weak rear armor.
==Variants:== There are several variants in testing. All typically switch out the standard coolent system for double strength heatsinks. The most promising variant switchs out the medium pulse lasers for 6 standard medium lasers, nearly doubling its firepower at the cost of more heat. Other variants swap out 1 or 2 medium lasers for a variaty of standard medium lasers or small pulse lasers.

Fast and has the ability to hit well at close range.

Definitely usable.
But I still have this stupid idea that light mechs should always have hands for raiding with. Grab and snatch sort of thing.
The big issue with the innersphere pulse lasers are the range, but I guess the to hit bonus is worth the risk. Going that fast should help avoid alot of incoming fire.
