------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ==Overview:== When Stefan Amaris siezed Terra, he set about using the factories he captured to solitify his hold and defend against the invetable assault Kerensky was planning to retake the Star League. The T-54 Medium Battle Tank was designed for speed, low cost and easy of manufacture. Rushed into production so quickly, the T-54 never officially recieved a name other then its developmental model number.
==Capabilities:== The T-54 MBT was designed for nothing more then mass production. As such, it utilized simple technologies to keep costs low and simplify production. The heart of the T-54 is a 225 I.C.E., able to propel the vehicle up to speeds of 54 km/h cruising speed and flank speeds of over 80. Its primary weapon, a class 5 autocannon; while somewhat light and lacking damage, is sufficant to penetrate the rear of most light and medium mechs thanks to the tank's high speed. A machine gun mounted forward is more then ample enough to defend against infantry threats before the tank should feel the need to withdrawl. Six tons of armor provide adequet armor protection.
==Variants:== There were several variants see during the war in limited numbers. Rim World units would often replace a damaged 225 I.C.E engine with a lighter 180. Designated the T-54A, the class 5 a/c is upgraded to a class 10 and supplied with 20 rounds of ammo and the machine gun replaced with a single shot SRM-5. This unit was often destroyed quickly due to its slower speed before it could bring its weapon to bear.
The SLDF would refurbish captured T-54s with more advanced technology. The T-54B replaced the standard autocannon with an LB-X of the same caliber to make use of cluster rounds. The other model, the T-54C, replaced the a/c with an Ultra-5 and upgraded the armor to ferro-fiberous at the expense of the machine gun.
Comstar has an estimated company's worth of upgraded tanks, designated the T-54/55 and adds many improvements. The I.C.E. is replaced with an XL fusion engine, allowing enough tonnage to upgrade the main weapon to a Gauss Rifle. The front machine gun is supplemented by a Streak-2. Two additional tons of armor of ferro-fiberous armor is added, along with CASE to protect the crew.
==Deployment== As the T-54's only defining aspect was its ability to be produced in sheer numbers, the armies of the Rim Worlds Republic almost always exclusively used it in attack rather then defense. A company or more of T-54s would swarm over a single Star League unit, flanking and inflicting significant damage before withdrawling. In the retreating chaos, another unit of T-54s would attack, annihilating the remainder of the Star League unit.
Ultimately, as the war dragged on, the SLDF learned to counter the T-54 tactics and destroying or capturing many for their own use.

So a Vedette with a lot of weight shaved off the engine.
You gained .75 tons to use and dropped the cost of the tank by 83K C-Bills just by dropping the tanks weight by five tons.
Why argue if the glass is half full or half empty, when you know someone is going to knock it over and spill it anyways.
I was a Major *pain* before
But I got a promotion.
I am now a General *pain*
Yay for promotions!!!

And what are you trying to imply? I made this tank cause I was bored. I was inspired from browsing through wikipedia and stumbled upon the Soviet T-54 tank. I had no intention beyond simply posting it. But I seem to of hit the nail on my head of a "low cost, easy to manufacture tank* if I managed to save a measly 83k C-Bills by your statement.
