I want to use RACs but I don't know the rules for jamming. Can some one please tell me them.

Sorry if I'm spamming the boardgame forum index. I just have alot of questions.

The process is similar to UAC jamming.

A RAC in single-shot mode does not have a jamming risk.
A RAC in double-shot mode will jam if the attack roll is a 2.
A RAC in quadruple-shot mode will jam if the attack roll is a 2 or 3.
A RAC in sextuple-shot mode will jam if the attack roll is 2, 3, or 4.

If a RAC jams on a first turn, then you don't get to shoot that turn. On the second turn, the pilot can declare they're unjamming it. On the third turn, the RAC will be usable again.

OR does it go like

single-shot = no jamming
double-shot = 2+ to hit
three-shot = 2+ to hit
quad-shot = 3+ to hit
five=shot = 3+ to hit
sextuple-shot 4+ to hit

Oh, sorry, I recalled the firing modes as 1, 2, 4, and 6. Have all speeds from 1 to 6 are available.

"When firing two or three shots, if the to-hit roll result is
a 2, the weapon is useless for the rest of the game; for
every two additional shots fired, add 1 to that number.
This means that for two or three shots, the jamming only
occurs on a to-hit result of 2, for four to five shots the
jamming occurs on a to-hit result of 3 and so on."

I was also incorrect about the jam process. Per p. 114 Total Warfare under "Rapid Fire Weapons," when a weapon jams, it happens AFTER the turn it jams. So if you crank a RAC to 6-speed mode and make an attack roll of 3, then you the gun still shoots and might hit (if you can hit with such a low roll). But it is jammed for the rest of the game unless unjammed (see p. 140 TW for Rotary Cannons.)

Maybe this will clear it up:

Gunnery of 3
Short Range (+0)
Targeting Computer (-1)
Walked (+1)
Target moved 4 hexes (+1)
No cover (+0)

Total: 4

Die roll: 4

The Hits, regardless of what rate of fire is used. However, if the RAC fires at full rate, it jams on a roll of 4 or less, so the shot hits, but the weapon jams and must be cleared before it can be fired again

What happens if you roll a 1?
Why argue if the glass is half full or half empty, when you know someone is going to knock it over and spill it anyways.

I was making a joke from a question I saw in a Q&A article people write in to so they can get answers in some RPG desk top publication some decades ago.

Someone asked what should he do if he rolled a one and the response was that they don't know since you cant roll a natural one on two six sided dice.

If you roll a one while playing battletech using two six-sided dies, you should liquidate all your assets IRL and sell everything to purchase yourself a makeshift bunker to prepare for the upcoming apocalypse.

One of my friend's d6s cracked in half during a game session. He may have very well rolled a one for that attack but we were all too busy staring dumbfounded at the broken dice that we didn't take note of the other.
