I like it. Solid skirmisher.

Skirmisher? The flank speed is about as fast as a tank normally this size moves on a cruise. I would think it is too slow for anything but get into position and hold it. Granted in large quantities, it would be very effective for a semi cheap cost. I would think protecting a base from guerilla infantry. Maybe a few light armored units.
The lasers without the fusion engine seems to put it at a disadvantage. But that is going to the min/max idea again.

Well, not skirmisher, but light/medium main line combat vehicle is more what I meant. I like the feel of it. Infantry? BLAM. No. Light 'Mech's? BLAM. No. Solid armor too...

I'm thinking high-tech infantry have an advantage on this combat vehicle. The MGs lack in range and the tank doesn't have the speed to pursue, say, hovercraft infantry squadrons or jumpjet infantry in restricting terrain. It's also too slow to pursue light mechs or hunt them down in any meaningful way. Maybe exchange the lasers and some MGs for two sixpack SRMs?

Depends are you going to attack a backwater world with high tech elite forces?

Probably not, but the SRMs are more multipurpose and you'll only need like 2 MGs in practice, given how infantry works in game.

4 seemed like a good number to go with and I had a similar design already with SRMs, so I didn't go that route for this one.
