So I had the realization that, in theory, there's absolutely no reason why a Hatamoto couldn't hold the 400 LTV standard fusion engine from its progenitor, the Charger. This got me thinking, which is always a dangerous thing for me to do.
With the HTM-27 series Hatamotos, you have handy endo steel. That frees up, once the weaponry is stripped, four tons, which is offset by the fact you lose a ton and a half to the extra armor. But, the CGR-2A2 added ferro-fibrous armor, so there's no real reason you can't do the same.
Weaponry is a combination of the CGR-1A1, with a small laser in the head, and the CGR-2A2 and Hatamoto-Kaze (kind of), with rocket launcher 10-packs in the side torsos. You are, however, an 80-ton 'Mech, and since this is already a kludge salvage kind of job, throw in a left hand actuator, which both the Charger and Hatamoto could really use. You can now, without issues, carry up to 8 tons as a handheld weapon, giving you options like:
3 LRM-5, 1 ton of ammo, 1 ton of armor 1 MRM-20, 1/2 ton of ammo, 1/2 ton of armor 1 light PPC, 5 heat sinks, and no armor 2 SRM-6, 1 ton of ammo, 1 ton of armor
As far as I can tell, you should also be able to do a handheld physical weapon, too, but my search of Tac Ops fails me at the moment.
