HHRS
HyperHeatReductionSystem

HHRS works similar to MASC and Supercharger.
First off HHRS is only compatible with standard and double heatsinks.

When you activate HHRS your heatsinks heat dissipation power doubles for the turn.

Every time you activate HHRS you must roll 2D6, on a 4+ the effect works.
If you decide to use the HHRS again add +2 each time.
If you ever fail the roll you must roll a D6 for EACH heatsink you have. If you roll a 1 or 6 destroy the heatsink.

If you are using Double Heatsinks add +4 instead of +2.

For each turn you dont use HHRS to number to roll is reduced by -1.

HHRS weighs 0.5 Tons for every 2 Heatsinks. 0.5 for each Double Heatsink.
HHRS Takes one Critical slot in each location. 8 in total.

Feel free to give any advice, opinions, objections, ect.

I should also add.
When ANY part of the HHRS is hit in a critical location the entire system is broken.
Heatsinks are still usable after destruction of HHRS.

Did they come out with other new heat sinks? I thought standard and double were all that were available.

This system sounds like something that should be in a new game, not in battle tech. It is becoming more and more like other games were you just push a button and it kills everything around you, like the donut of destruction.

I think it is to far out of line along with other things like the stealth fields and hag. Might was well create warships that and land and perform land battles.

But it is thought out decently with the exceptions stated.

Field Manual 3145 introduces almost exactly what you described! : ) It is called the Radical Heat Sink System.

it is different from the one you created in that the weight and space is fixed, not determined by the amount of sinks. Also it adds ONE to each heat sinks dissipation, so DHS now dissipate three, not two. It is still a cool new thing for energy boats IMHO

Guess the lack of the newer things is showing even more now.

I am curious on the physics behind this. I know it is fantasy, but coolant is supposed to be liquid nitrogen if I recall. I don't understand how anything other then maybe running the fusion engine would create heat like it does. But I guess this is a different thread topic.

I do like it being based on the number of heat sinks instead of fixed. It should require more space when you have 29 heat sinks verse just the 10 that come with the engine.

I know this is picky, but there are 9 places in a mech. I would assume you didn't include the head for a reason.

I learned how to count before 9 came out.

Don't know why I missed it. Maybe I forgot the ct... still. I like the use of the number of sinks for it. Though not sure how it would work. Still.
