Fighters are at a reasonable number for the tonnage, the docking hardpoints are plausible, the guns aren't bad, and the price is reasonable (did you work in KF support equipment from StratOps?). And I like the gravdeck sizing, just big enough to get 1G at a stomach-safe RPM.

One drawback: the thrust. A hard lesson from modern aerospace rules is that you really need at least 3 thrust points to flip end-over-end in one turn (a useful combat maneuver). It's better to have some reserve to allow for losses from crits, so a 3/5 profile is sort of a minimum. The Porcupine - good name - does have excellent universal weapons coverage so it doesn't need to spin like a turret like some WarShips (e.g., the McKenna or Cruiser), but it'll be hard pressed to keep up with any fleet or DropShips. It can't even manage 1G transit burns with overthrust. You wouldn't lose too much firepower if you went to 2/3.

On the other hand, it would make an excellent, realistic battle station. Unlike any canon battle station design, it can reasonably maneuver toward threats with capital missile launchers (the bane of battle stations).

You are right, of course, about the speed of the design. It sucks. I didn't recall ever making a 1/2 design before and decided to see what it would be like... I used the Heavy Metal Aero program and didn't modify any of the changes to the rules since the program was launched.

Ah, okay. And it was an interesting result.

There's no changes except a line item in the cost calculations, "KF support equipment." That's a tonnage-related cost meant to separate the battleships from the frigates, so to speak, and is easy to add into the price by hand if you're interested.
