Considering my post re the Clans invasion of the IS.

Could the following be considered to be plausible?

The leaders of the Inner Sphere travel to Outreach for ‘Clan’ training by Wolf’s Dragoons and include discussions re. the establishment of the Star League begin – however prior to this a peace / mutual defence pact between Federated Commonwealth, The Draconis Combine and the Free Rasalhague Republic for the duration of the Clan Invasion is enacted.

The leaders of these three starts will also hold Comstar accountable for their Vichy government within the clan occupation zone ….. thus ....

The Trial of ComStar ....

Armed with their knowledge of Comstar’s activity within the Clan’s Occupation Zone together with the information Focht has provided Comstar must defend its actions to the leaders of the Federated Commonwealth, Draconis Combine and Free Rasalhague Republic.

At this stage Precentor Sharilar Mori together with Focht are undermining Myndo Waterly.

Assume that as this stage Waterly would enact plans to take over the Inner Sphere, Operation Scorpion, however she would be stopped by Mori/Focht – though the proliferation of HPG Fax Machines would mean the interdiction meaningless/of little disruption to the IS military – though wold be of great importance to civilians.

Mori/Focht at this stage would have to reform ComStar – they then provide all IS states with a copy of all Star League Technology / access to materials – including Jumpdrives for warship production, all weapon systems, medical, engineering etc. Comstar will also be required to open communication within the Clan Occupation Zone.

Also they disclose the future plans of ComStar’s army Vs. the clans – integrate Comstar’s Army into that of the Army of the IS – this would also include their warships in hiding in the periphery with that of the pirate forces being established to attack all clan re-supply bases within the periphery.

Thus on a theological level ComStar begins to fracture, at this stage – The beginning of The Word of Blake.

Why - Mori/Focht realise that Comstar's dream of a united IS under Comstar has now become impossible if the Clans succeed with their invasion - they too will become effective slaves of the Clans ...

Get thee to Coventry … Now is the winter of our discontent, made glorious by this daughter of Tharkad … Our army shall march through. Well to New Avalon tonight.

Two nitpicks. What you've said there is plausible in general, but I disagree with the specifics.

1) The Helm Memory Core mostly gave your listed technology to the Inner Sphere. It just took years, decades, for the Inner Sphere to put that knowledge into action. ComStar's aid to the likes of the FWLM and DCMS helped somewhat, but didn't make lostech factories sprout from the ground and start running over night. Indeed, the superior educational system and science-engineering establishment of the FedCom generally put it in an advantageous position compared to the FWL and Combine despite ComStar's aid. The Suns were working on HPGs (Third Succession War) until ComStar assassinated key researchers, while Hanse Davion started WarShip programs in the late 3040s.

2) Why would reformed Comstar suddenly share its economic advantages with the Inner Sphere, not all of whom are buddies? I mean, in your scenario, the Inner Sphere just raked ComStar over the coals and Focht doesn't have reason to believe the Inner Sphere will be done with ComStar just because of his reforms. Lots of organizations swap a few figureheads and issue new HR policies in times of public embarrassment but don't really change. Focht knows that, the House Lords know that, and until both sides are satisfied the situation's stable it's a bad idea for Focht to open up ComStar's technological cookie jar. Those cookies are ComStar's remaining aces up their sleeves and not something to toss away.

Instead of just giving the Houses a data dump, a canny Focht and Mori will sell technological and industrial aid to the Houses. "Sure, we'll give you compact core aid, but you'll need to get your boot off ComStar's throat..."

But that's nitpicking the little details. A reformed ComStar would likely be more helpful to the Inner Sphere in some way.

While the Clans allow it.

Another nitpick in detail, not the general outline of your alternate history:

If what you're proposing is happening around 3052 and Operation Scorpion, then those Jihad forces won't be built and born for at least 10 years. ComStar didn't have WarShips hiding in the Periphery and pet pirate forces until after years of work by the Word of Blake. A particularly key element of the build-up of secret Jihadist forces was Blake's capture of Terra in 3058. Blake then really mobilized Terra's industrial muscle (which was warming up after Tukayyid) to build WarShips and all the rest of the Jihad fun, and was only really hitting its stride at the 3067 collapse of the Star League. While Blake planned to attack the Clans in 3067 when it was accepted into the new Star League, the Blake military build-up actually peaked around 3070-3071 before the Jihad began eroding it.

What's available at the time of Operation Scorpion are all the ComGuards gear based on mothballed old Star League Defense Force hardware. That was an epic fighting force, to be sure, and was the largest fielded in centuries when it faced down the Clans on Tukayyid in 3052. (Incidentally, it was the devastating ComGuard losses on Tukayyid that prompted ComStar to revive Terra's industry. Blake had that head start when it took over in 3058.)

But that's nitpicking. The Battle of Tukayyid in 3052 shows that ComStar under Focht is completely willing to back the Inner Sphere in fighting the Clans. ComStar threw the SLDF-based ComGuards against all the invading Clans at once, and then began rebuilding with the intent of facing the Clans again. A few years later, it was a major proponent of the new Star League, Operation Bulldog, and the Great Refusal in 3058.
