This is my attempt to make a 'zombie' mech, but one that is actually useful on the battlefield as more than just a massive damage soak. Four ER Large Lasers put out plenty of damage, but even with the Radical Heat Sink the Stoic must use volley fire to avoid overheating. It runs hot on purpose so that the TSM can engage and get movement up to 3/5, otherwise it is only 2/3 movement.
Mobility is why I went with max Ferro Lammellor armor instead of Hardened. (A 2/2 mech is really just a practice target for enemy artillery.) Almost all other design decisions were aimed at survivability. Aside from the maximum 22 tons of Ferro Lamellor armor, the Stoic rocks reinforced internal structure, a compact engine, compact gyro, torso-mounted cockpit, angel ECM, two fully articulated arms, and a Chameleon LPS. Component armor protects the engine, gyro, cockpit, and radical heat sink. Unusually it keeps all four of its ER Large Lasers in the head, in a turret. (battlemech head turret mechanism goes in the center torso.) This gives it 360 degree coverage, making the Stoic completely un-flankable. A targeting computer at least cancels out the +1 to hit from early-stage overheating. If an enemy closes (which is likely, the Stoic is rather slow even for an assault) the TSM makes it a very dangerous brawler capable of two twenty-point damage punches.
A big side benefit of the trio of 1.)TSM, 2.)two fully articulated arms, and 3.) all weapons in the head means that the Stoic can carry and use a 20 ton handheld weapon without interfering with it's head laser turrets ability to fire.
A handheld weapon configuration I like is:
HAG 30 13 tons 16 rounds HAG ammo 3 tons 3 M-Pods 1 ton armor (16 points)
or a giant mech-sized bazooka artillery model:
Arrow IV 12 tons Arrow IV ammo (various) 7 tons 1 ton armor (16 points)
