==Overview:==
This mech is Koda's attempt to push Earthwerks Inc's masterpiece, the Thunderbolt, out of the lime light and into the scrap yard.

With this as it's main goal the company has pushed sales of this mech more then anyother. Toting it's speed and better overall damage spread, the comapny hopes to push into the market where Earthwerks has had strangle hold on for years.

Adding fuel to the corporate riviraly is the recent awarding of the sought after Star League contract for heavy raider mech to Koda Works.

==Capabilities:==
The main role of this mech is hit and run, it can slug it out with other mechs but it's better for it to dish out it's firepower and run off so that it can do it again and again.

The lasers/missle combo is tried and true setup and one that allows for the most out of the mech vast arsenal.

The only draw back to this mech is the amount of heat that is put out by the machine when it is in the thick of fighting, this means that a lot of time is needed during training of the pilots so as to prevent them from over reacting and firing off everything and shutdown in the middle of combat. This is one area that Earthwerks has been point out to the SLDF that they have bought a lemming and will endup with dead mechwarriors.

==Battle History:==
None as of yet. Mech is just out of the R&D stage and is just entering field use by the SLDF.

==Variants:==
None as of yet.

>>>This mech is Koda's attempt to push Earthwerks Inc's masterpiece, the Thunderbolt, out of the lime light and into the scrap yard. <<<

And it fails miserably.

Its most major advantage is speed, counterbalanced by the vulnerability due to its XL engine.

This thing has the ability to overheat, and I like that in a 'Mech....but it should really have more heat sinks. As it is, it can't fire both ER Large Lasers along with anything else (though it can combine firing one of them with either of its other weapon systems.) without taking a good dose of heat.

It's not really a replacement for the TDR, it's more like, as the fluff says, a heavy raider 'Mech such as the Ostmann Walker/Pods or the Dragon. The only anomaly being its overdone armor. Do you REALLY need that much on the legs?
You could probably get a ton (and an extra DHS?) by dropping 8 points off each.

Well, let's see.

First off, I'd probably drop a point of armor from the CT. Don't need to waste half a ton for one point of armor, Ja? That would let you up the ERSL to a ML. I'd probably also downrate the ERML's to standards, as the two heat per gun doesn't gain enough range to really make them worth it.

I have rarely cooked through more than 12 rounds of ammo per launcher, and when I have even rarer to go beyond 16 shots. As such I'd probably also drop a ton of LRM ammo for another medium laser.

Thing is, with your current number of heat sinks, those LRM's aren't gonna be fired much. As such I'd be tempted to drop to a single launcher like a -15 rack @2 with 5 sinks. That would leave enough room for five medium lasers, a pretty good trade for one ERLL and the LRM rack close in.
Kept my cool under lock and key,
and I never shed a tear,
another sign of my condidtion.

I will look into the MASC option...that might make the mech cheaper in the long run.

The MLs...I was trying to stick to the given IS (FASA) feel that the newest and best had to go on the mechs, example the TR3050 and 3055 where all mechs had for the most part their lasers replaced by Pulse version, even if it cut the range down a lot.

But I do see the point about heat.

You have a valid point and one that I agree with...I can drop the Lasers down to standards...

The engine thing I will look into...what I had in mind was have some friends run the mech in a battle we have coming up during the Christmas break and make changes after that, but I can make the suggested changes by you guys and toss it in as another mech...should be interesting.

I had a chance to try a reworked version based on the idea by Deathshadow. I will repost the newer version soon.
