Shadowhawk, clearly. It adorned all those early books.

Well, which do you want answered: Your question (in the title) or your poll, which is not representative of all the potential candidates.
I mean, the Shadowhawk really exemplified Battletech for me. Then the Warhammer had its moments - that big poster of the golden Warhammer trudging along was up on my wall for years.
Ooo, hey, you had the Warhammer in your list. Didn't see that. Voted for it.

Quite.
For me, it's the Warhammer, especially since I started with 3rd Ed. Though, since it makes far more sense to post one's choice, instead voting in a limited poll, that's what I'm doing.
Second would actually be the Catapult, as it too has that "gritty" feel. Though really all the 3rd ed (the good unseen dozen) are signature, from the Locust to the Battlemaster.

"Just pick one of the four" and "which mech of the four IS BT to you" is pretty mutually exclusive. I still think the Shadowhawk is a better answer for me, though I went with my second choice (Warhammer).

Since I never particularly liked any of those 'Mechs (ok, except for the Mad Cat, but I rarely play Clan) I'm reluctant to declare one of those "the" definitive 'Mech of the game. A "none of the above" choice would have been helpful...

>>WHY ARE ALL OF YOU PICKING APART THE POLE? WHY CAN'T YOU SIMPLE PICK ONE MECH AND BE DONE WITH IT<<
because, apparently, most people want to vote "none of the above"...maybe a repost with that fifth option?

I'm picking it apart because your poll was rudely presumptuous by not allowing for my views - a simple "none of the above" would've been peachy, or "none of the above, list your choice here" would've been stellar.

Well, I didn't really think any of those mechs made the game, so your poll wouldn't work.
