Whilest browsing for information on MechAssault, i found out something mighty interesting about the plotline. It appears not to have anything to do with the FedCom Civil War, rather it was mentioned that it has to do with the WoB revolution/take over.

not sure; most info is still limited; i just found this while trying to find out a comprehensive list of mechs for the game (which i failed at btw) but at least i did find something for it. Also, i heard "rumors" that they are going to have new material for the game for months after its release, via xbox live.

yes. im probably going to obtain it, but i hear that theyve dumbed it down a bunch as well to make it go from sim to action game. that doesnt mean its bad, because ive also heard from many reviewers that it was challenging to play. Most likely, i believe it just means the speed of gameplay was dumbed down. Still, I'll give it a test play just cuz i wouldnt mind obtaining all BattleTech related games ;-)

I recall the Nintendo Mechwarrior game with all the ComStar mechs got some really crappy reviews and then did ok. I bought it and after a playing it over a weekend beat it and was impressed enough to try and make BT stats of the Ragnorak (sorry about the spelling) mech just to see how it would do in the game.

I think I still have the game somewhere...not sure where.

...and a pretty sad one, too.

...and I've heard rumblings about programs designed to let you run XBox games on your PCs. I'd count on that to let you play MechAssault.

As one who uses emulators often, I have not yet heard of a way to run an X-Box game on a PC. Although most of the hardware is standard and now obsolete devices (PIII 733, Geforce something video card) and the system runs on a version of Windows CE, there is enough specialization that it will take a while of study to fake the rest. If Bob knows how far this study has proceeded, I would be interested as well.

No XBox emulators right now, but it WILL happen. Be sure of that.
