[The stats for the Ghost Bear's revamped Leviathan were posted on CBT. I was expecting the uber gunboat. Liam made a better carrier without the lasers...so many lasers...and I decided to make a better gunboat. And also because I haven't made a munchkin dreadnaught in a while.]

Peter Steiner-Davion looked out the dropship's port.
"Dude," whispered the Archon in awe.
"Dude," acknowledged Chief Langley.
"Du-u-u-ude...," the Archon whispered as the possibilities dawned.
"Dude," Langley confirmed with a nod.
"Just...dude..." the Archon wondered.
"Yeah, the Free Worlders weren't the only ones to stumble over lost Star League ships, your highness," Langley explained. "We found this fleet of 'scuttled ships' here in 3048. When your father funded Fed-Boeing's warship program, these were picked over for ideas that went into the Fox."
"Dude," the Archon said solemnly. Dad always had good ideas.
"Then your sister decided to reawaken these ships in 3059. The six of'em would instantly expand the fleet, or so she thought."
"Dude," the phrase was uttered tersely, angrily.
"Yeah, I know. We could've had the Lolas up and running in 3062, maybe 3063. But the orders were to get the McKennas up first."
"Dude," an acknowledgement of the difficulties the scientists and engineers looked forward to when trying to rebuild the biggest ships first.
"We almost had them ready, but there was a software problem with the repaired Communal V computers, so we decided to delay a week to work out the bug. In that one...*one*...week, your sister was off Tharkad and shacked up with her Wolfie squeeze."
"Dude."
"And, so, here they are. All repaired, up-gunned, and up-armored with nothing to kill."
"Dang."

The McKennas found by the Lyran Alliance had been abandoned in long-period, cometary orbits by their crews because, like so many other McKennas, "The design's reputation, however, made McKennas prime targets during the war to liberate Terra." About the only thing functional on the two hulks were the maneuvering drives and KF drive. But when you had those for a warship, everything else was just so much icing on the cake.

The Lyran engineers had on-site facilities for producing the necessary materials and since there was little demand elsewhere for the super-strong frame materials, they became...a little overenthusiastic...about reinforcing the gutted titans' damaged framework. Replacing the battered and stripped hull plating followed a similar design theory (if it could be called a theory). The vast cargo bays of the McKenna had been ripped open to space and just begged the Lyran engineers to put "something useful" in them during the reconstruction. The engineers caved into the pleas of the cargo bays by ordering far more Kreuss XX PPCs (as "spare parts" and "test articles," of course) than strictly necessary to repair the vessels. Expanded fuel tanks also went into the bays to keep the large complement of fighters happy during extended deployments. As with the Clan rebuild of the McKenna, the mech bays were removed (and had been pretty much evaporated in combat anyway). The original, huge NACs of the McKenna were replaced with pairs of slightly smaller cannons developed for the Mjolnir and used to stiffen the McKenna's chaser weaponry. As an afterthought, remote weapon blisters were welded to the hull to provide point defenses, anti-fighter weaponry, and to give the McKenna the new Inner Sphere screen launchers. The McKenna's tertiary battery of naval lasers were dismounted and sold to night clubs around the Lyran Alliance to provide special lighting effects. About the only weapon system that survived the reconstruction was the McKenna's original AR-10s, which were reputed to be balky. The Lyrans simply rebuilt the damaged ones rather than mess with launchers that finally worked.

Today, the Lyran McKenna's would bring tears to the eyes of a Star League McKenna crewman...seriously. The budget was running low when the secondary weapons were added, so they went onto the hull in crude blister mounts rather than sleeker, through-armor mounts. The much-thicker lamellor ferro-carbide armor was at the limits of Lyran engineering capacity to form, so it's mounted in crude, simple plates that ruin the original, graceful lines of the McKenna. The reinforced frame also distorted the lines of the ships. The budget was gone before the ships could be painted, leaving the pair of battleships bare-metal ugly, scorched in hundreds of places where welding has been performed (particularly around the 200+ secondary weapon mounts, which resemble an infectious skin condition). However, the life support works, the drives work, the weapons work - the ships work.

That fluff's classic.

I was thinking I might take a stab at the proto-leviathan (that is, the original design.) I'm not convinced the L2 is it, as both the Conqueror and the Leviathan were designed for use by Clan Ghost Bear and there's no way in bloody hell the Ghost Bears could come up with that many fighters.

Look in the Aerospace forum, in the "Leviathan 2" thread.

Duuude.
That's all that need be said.
