They are like sandcasters and other Point defense weapons, they are in the AT2 book and I believe the Battlespace book as well.

They were originally released in Explorer Corps and wiggled their way into AT2. They're sick, sick, evil EVIL things, and (incidentally) the only Naval-Short-Range weapon.

They put up one hex of chaff etc that interferes with enemy LOS. Incidentally, anything in the targeted hex takes 15 points of Naval-Class damage. *CHEESE PLUS!* The full rules can be found in AT2.
I tend to put them onto Corvette-class designs, but my Barrayar Combat Carrier was equipped with them as well, as was (IIRC) my Kaga.
