Okay not sure where this should go but the Design area sounds like the best place...:D
I am looking for ideas for a ship that fills the following requirements:
A ship similar to the old 20th Century Terran Torpedo boats. Has the ability to get in close and unload large amounts of missiles and other high damage weapons and get out again.
Now the other question is which type of ship fits this role...does a small warship fit this better then say a monitor? Or does a dropship (either style) fit it better? Or can this be done with a fighter chassis?
Let's hear some ideas for this and see what you guys come up with.

You may have already seen these; if not, here they are. Here's the Able-class PT Boat. Needless to say not a warship used by any current BT power (though probably the Snow Ravens would love to have some).
Name: Able-class Type: Patrol Torpedo (monitor, Clan-tech) Mass: 100,000 tons (2 collars) Length: 95m Fuel: 2,370 tons (4740 pts; 120 days @ 1G) Thrust: 7/11 SI: 200 976 Double Heat Sinks Armor: LFC, 400 tons 151/151/103/101
Weapons: Fore: 4 Kraken-T, 10rpg 28 Barracuda 10rpg 12 Large Pulse Lasers 24 Micro Pulse Lasers
Fore Sides: 2 NL-55 1 Kraken-T, 10rpg 4 Barracuda, 10rpg 16 Large Pulse Lasers 32 Micro Pulse Lasers
Aft Sides: 2 Barracuda, 10rpg 8 Large Pulse Lasers 16 Micro Pulse Lasers
Aft: 16 Large Pulse Lasers 32 Micro Pulse Lasers
Bay 1: 2 Small Craft, 2 pilots, 2 techs. Bay 2: 1 platoon (32) Power Armor marines. Bay 3: Cargo (1,301t; 1.3%)
Crew: 55 pilots, 48 Engineers, 48 2nd Engineers (31 officers and 121 ratings) 35 Lifeboats. HPG.
Cost: 747,966,000 BV: 117,277
Note: Baker-class trades all but two of the forward Barracudas for four more Kraken-Ts, and two of each fore-side and one each aft-side Barracuda for two more Kraken-T in each fore-side (all at 10rpg), and a total of 1,076 DHS. Crew requirements decrease to 44 each Engineers and 2nd Engineers (for a total of 29 officers and 115 ratings, with 33 life boats). Cargo is reduced to 1,220t (1.2%). Cost is 749,666,000 and BV is 131,349
And, here she is: (the Able-class PT-256, TCS Newfoundland)

Damn nice picture!
The Able is nice as well...that is the second one I have seen that is close to what I am picturing...
Do you have any more?

Thanks! Other than the Baker variant in the above post, no, 'fraid not. I'll see what I can come up with, though.
