Following an unsuccessful attempt to remove a farming community on [[Cole Harbour]], Black Inferno attempted to exact revenge and ambush [[Nik's Cavaliers]] on [[Cavanaugh]] by replicating the conditions, going so far as to sacrifice a few tanks and a couple light [[BattleMech|'Mechs]] on a staged raid on a farm. Mathew Taggart and his lancemate were then tasked with attacking the Cavaliers just outside the port city, luring them into the Inferno's trap.<ref name=MW5M/>
