The '''Request for Comment''' forum allows Editors to introduce an issue that may have sprung up either in a high-traffic area (ex: [[BattleTechWiki:Project BattleMechs|Project:BattleMech]]) or somewhere more obscure (ex:[[2418]]), but may require a third, fourth or even twenty-third opinion. This allows a community consensus to be  formed through discussion and may affect more than just the article being discussed.
 +
 +
'''Useage''':  Under a dated section, introduce a new entry with an asterisk (*), right under the "'''Requests for Comments'''" section head (''i.e''., in reverse chronological order). Start it off with a link to the discussion page of the article in question, and a very brief summary of the issue being discussed. Remember to sign the entry (with four tildes: <nowiki>~~~~</nowiki>). '''Please ''do not'' add an opinion to the summary here.'''

 +
'''Acceptable Example''':
 +
*[[Policy Talk:Notability]]: discussion as to what shall be done with articles deemed non-notable. --[[User:Revanche|Revanche]] ([[User_talk:Revanche|talk]]|[[Special:Contributions/Revanche|contribs]]) 12:55, 19 December 2007 (CST)
 +
 +
'''Unacceptable Example''':
 +
*[[Policy Talk:Notability]]: Some spammer wants to create an article about himself, just because he wrote some fan-boy story about [[Peder Smythe]]. Let's 'explain' to him why that won't fly. --[[User:Revanche|Revanche]] ([[User_talk:Revanche|talk]]|[[Special:Contributions/Revanche|contribs]]) 12:55, 19 December 2007 (CST)

The page [[Miniatures]] still is drastically incomplete and a bit incorrect.  Updating it will be a pretty big project.  Looking for comments or suggestions, please: [[Talk:Miniatures]] -- [[User:Cache|Cache]] ([[User talk:Cache|talk]]) 08:22, 24 December 2014 (PST)

:I cannot offer anything beyond full agreement. Miniatures of all kinds are woefully underrepresented on Sarna. Even though it's a big part of BattleTech, personally I never was into miniatures myself, therefore wasn't able to work in that particular field.

:As for suggestions, I actually have a few suggestions if somebody cares to actually take care of minis here:

*While I'm dreaming, an essay-style article about the evolution of BT miniatures (including Battledroids and the famous 1st and 2nd Ed. paper standups), the various miniature producers, etc. would be great. With all the different scales, model kits, etc. that were ever produced. I know this is a huge field, and I can offer but a little help. ::That's one heck of an ambitious dream.  I like it.  I think completing the list of official miniatures would be first priority.  Setting up the framework for adding images could be a part of that. -- [[User:Cache|Cache]] ([[User talk:Cache|talk]]) 20:09, 27 December 2014 (PST)

: I just stumbled across this when performing a link update.  The miniatures page is now a landing page for miniatures in general with the individual miniatures lists for each company in separate pages.  The outline (and super structure) for Ral Partha miniatures is appearing in good shape though some details still need filling.  The [[Miniatures - Iron Wind Metals|Iron Wind Metals Miniatures Page]] is a page needing significant work yet.  Here are some responses/comments as food for thought.

* An example of the gallery idea can be found at Lost Minis Wiki  [http://www.miniatures-workshop.com/lostminiswiki/index.php?title=BattleTech&direction=next&oldid=219598].  Their BattleTech content seems focused on Ral Partha.  FASA, Catalyst, and Iron Wind Metals do not appear to be represented there.  Anyone wishing to work on a image gallery might want to prioritize the latter three.

* The Catalyst plastics could be particularly opportune to work on either now or in the near future given the Kickstarter is nearing delivery.

* A separate page devoted to standees would make sense.  If/when I have opportunity, I will create such.  I wrote the intro to [[Miniatures]] with this idea in view.  Model kits (if they are not directly used in game play) would likely need to be addressed separately.

* The miniature page is now a landing page (and I adopted a division by company as a convenient way to "divide-and-conquer").  But there might be better methods of organization.  And this is a good time to discuss the bird's eye view.  If there are thoughts about ways to structure this from a bird's eye view, please do share.
