== History == Little is known about Ren Posavatz, other than he helped train Wolf's Dragoons during their journey to the Inner Sphere. However he was known to be wise and opportunistic during the dawn of Operation Revival. Ren had dreams of returning to the Inner Sphere and claiming Star League relics in order to turn the Scorpions to their rightful place of [[ilClan]].<ref name=FMWC_107>''Field Manual: Warden Clans'', p. 107: "Clan Goliath Scorpion - Operation Revival"</ref> He was also the longest serving saKhan in the history of Clan Goliath Scorpion.<ref name=SO:CSSp4/> ===Dragoon Compromise=== During the 3000s the [[Crusader Clans|Crusader]] elements of the Clan had called for an invasion of the Inner Sphere. Clan Wolf was the only Clan to suggest an alternative, to form a Clan recon unit under the guise of a Mercenary Unit in order to learn about the strengths and weaknesses of all the [[Successor States]]. This unit would consist mostly consist of freeborns, ''[[solahma]]'' troops, and some trueborns, but some Clans detested this idea stating how easy it would be to defect against the Clans. Nonetheless, the creation of [[Wolf's Dragoons]] was successful, with other Clan warriors offering to train the new unit. Scorpion saKhan Ren Posavatz was the only person that would train the Dragoons in the ways of the Inner Sphere through Star League holovids and under the supervision of Star Colonel [[Vlad Dinour]] and his elite [[1st_Cateran_Cluster_(Escorpi%C3%B3n_Imperio)|Heartvenom Cluster]].<ref name=FM:WCp106>''Field Manual: Warden Clans'', p. 106: "Seeking the Past"</ref> ===Operation REVIVAL=== Although Ren's Clan lost during the starting Trial for Operation REVIVAL, he wisely chose to bide his time, instead of attacking the other Clans like Clan Ice Hellion's Fury Campaign. While the four Clans were away during the Inner Sphere crusade, Ren Posavatz would raid resources from them to strengthen his Clan, even getting nearly killed by the [[Clan Smoke Jaguar|Smoke Jaguars]] when successful during a Trial of Possession for a knife of [[Franklin Osis]].<ref name=FMWC_107/><ref>''Spotlight On: Crimson Seeker Star'', p. 9</ref> When [[Clan Steel Viper]] became a reserve Clan, saKhan Posavatz took this opportunity to challenge them to a [[Trial of Possession]] in order to be included in the Invasion. When the Scorpions won, he brought the [[Crimson Seeker Star]] and his own entourage to accompany the Steel Vipers in the Inner Sphere.<ref name=SO:CSSp4/> === Disappearance === Separated from Viper forces in the hellish Devil's Bath confrontation during the [[Battle of Tukayyid (3052)|Battle of Tukayyid]] in [[3052]], Ren and his [[Star]] disappeared from the planet.
