+ ==Speculation==
+ So I was thinking : The original source material (and the text on this page) implies that the Linebacker will ultimately completely replace the Timber Wolf / Mad Cat. This obviously didn't happen. Would it be appropriate to post speculation as to why this didn't take place? My theories involve the original pace of the invasion versus the pace of later conflicts. + : Preference would be to just repeat and paraphrase the more modern reasons why it didn't from official sources like [[Technical Readout: 3055 Upgrade]]. [[User:Cyc|Cyc]] 20:49, 19 February 2010 (UTC)

+ Any analysis would show that the 55 ton Stormcrow would be more combat effective then the Linebacker and costs over 6.5 million c-bills less, which in universe represents material savings. The Linebacker was not a very well conceived idea. The MadCat was already the optimal for a BattleMech that weighed 75 tons. If it can't keep up it's because yes smaller mechs are going to be running from it. That is for clan light and medium mechs to deal with, not the 75 ton TimberWolf.
