It is based on the ''[[BattleSpace]]'' ruleset and aims on thoroughly consolidating space vessel designs and clarifications of changed rules (in comparison to the older ''[[AeroTech]]'') in one book, including record sheets for ''BattleSpace''.

The book, purporting to be an [[Explorer Corps]] document from [[3057]] by one ''Dai-i'' [[Otanashi Haruka]], was first published in 1994 with a same cover second and third edition.<ref>The third being marked as "Corrected 3rd Printing"</ref> The ''TRO:3057'' was reissued in 2004 as ''[[Technical Readout: 3057 Revised]]''.<ref>A purported workover from [[Wolfnet]] in [[3067]] with an introduction by [[Margaret Tulliver]] stating that the 3057 edition, as well as [[ComStar]]'s earlier [[DropShips and JumpShips|FB60 Intelligence Summary]], contained numerous errors. * ''Technical Readout: 3057'' is an unusual TRO in that it carries no land units. Further it changed the artwork from the earlier Technical Readout: 2750, which did not go over well with some fans. However, it did well enough in sales to allow for the creation of JumpShip and WarShip miniatures.

* Another unique feature of this ''TRO'' is that it contains only ''[[BattleSpace]]'' statistics for the [[aerospace fighter|fighters]] presented, rather than full ''TRO''-style entries. New artwork for a handful of fighters appear, but the images are not assigned to specific fighters. These images presumably represented the fighters introduced in ''[[AeroTech#Notes|AeroTech]]'' that were not given artwork at the time.

* The WarShip prominently shown on the cover, a ''[[Leviathan (WarShip class)|Leviathan]]''-class Dreadnought, is a class that was not actually described within the book. It was first described in ''[[Technical Readout: 3067]]''. As of 3057, only two such ships were under construction, the ''[[Leviathan (Individual Leviathan-class WarShip)]]'' and the ''[[Great Bear]]''. A photo of a miniature of the latter in ''[[AeroTech 2 Revised Edition]]'' showcasing its [[canonical]] paint scheme depicts the Ghost Bear logo on a red field. The German edition received notable changes only in the book's last section, ''BattleSpace Clarifications''. Here, the original ''Technical Readout 3057'' lists a string of rule clarifications, blank record sheets, tables, diagrams for [[BattleSpace]] and a sketch of different space vessels for purpose of size comparison. In the German edition, this section is renamed ''Grössenvergleich'' (''Site Comparison'') and, consequently, contains just the two pages of sketches; all other content is left out.

====Spelling and Names====
As with other German products prior to 1997, spelling and names (especially places and units), as well as most abbreviations, were usually translated. For instance the ''[[Archer]]'' Mech unit was renamed ''Schütze'', the planet [[Götterdämmerung (system)|Gotterdammerung]] was respelled as ''Götterdämmerung'', the ''[[DCMS]]'' (''Draconis Combine Mustered Soldiery'') became ''VSDK'' (''Vereinigte Streitkräfte des Draconis Kombinats''), and so on.
